New Center Equipped with Da Vinci Robot for Precise and Efficient Surgeries

The Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE) has recently inaugurated a state-of-the-art Robotic Surgery Center at the Hospital Regional (HR) “Lic. Adolfo López Mateos.” This new facility, equipped with a Da Vinci robot, aims to provide advanced surgical care for ISSSTE beneficiaries.

First Surgeries Conducted with Positive Outcomes

The Center officially opened with two successful surgeries, benefiting women aged 72 and 76. Both patients were diagnosed with ovarian tumors and cervical cancer, respectively. Following the precise and efficient robotic procedures, both patients are recovering well and are expected to be discharged within 24 to 48 hours, barring any postoperative complications.

Investment and Capacity

The new Robotic Surgery Center was established with an investment of 6 million pesos. This cutting-edge facility includes two operating rooms, a preoperative area with two beds, and a recovery zone with four available beds. The center is projected to serve approximately 500 beneficiaries annually, offering high-precision and quality surgeries in oncology, gynecology, and urology.

Advanced Features for Patient Safety

The operating rooms are designed with patient safety in mind, maintaining a controlled temperature between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius. Automatic door systems ensure the surgical area remains closed during operations, enhancing sterility and patient security. The center also features a short-stay surgery approach, with dedicated admission and recovery areas to streamline patient care.
