Mario Delgado Launches TecNM Virtual Platform, Welcoming First 2,815 Students

Introduction to the TecNM Virtual Platform

Mario Delgado Carrillo, the Secretary of Public Education (SEP), welcomed the first generation of 2,815 students into the Tecnológico Nacional de México (TecNM) Virtual. These students will begin their higher education journey in engineering programs such as Business Management Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Computer Systems Engineering. The initiative is supported by 18 technology institutes across Mexico and over a thousand teachers.

Accompanied by subsecretaries of Middle-Level and Higher Education, Delgado Carrillo highlighted that the TecNM Virtual opening responds to President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s call for expanding educational coverage and ensuring more young people can access higher education.

With the new educational model, TecNM combines technological innovation with humanism, Delgado Carrillo explained. Students will experience flexible learning paths, digital inclusion, virtual mobility, and programs aligned with social needs, industry 5.0, and Plan México.

Ramón Jiménez López, TecNM’s General Director, affirmed that this effort strengthens educational innovation through the Aula Virtual platform. This digital tool features intuitive navigation, interactive design, and academic support that helps students and teachers monitor their progress effectively.

As a decentralized entity of the SEP with technical, academic, and management autonomy, TecNM comprises 254 specialized institutes and training centers across Mexico’s 32 states.
