Introduction to the Labor Court System in Mexico
The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) recently released data on Mexico’s labor court system, revealing that 133 jurisdictional bodies affiliated with the Federal Judicial Power (PJF) resolved 23,207 cases through ordinary proceedings between November 2020 and December of the previous year.

- Case Distribution by State: The State of Mexico had 13.4% of opened cases and 27.2% of solved cases, while Ciudad de México had 11.1% of opened cases and 7.9% of solved cases.
- Growth Trend: The number of labor cases has been progressively increasing since 2021 at the state level.
Case Increases Over Time
From 2021 to 2022, the number of opened cases in states increased significantly by 192.3%, from 16,456 to 48,094. Similarly, solved cases rose by 359.8%, from 3,560 to 16,368.
