Protest Activities in Mexico City

On Friday, December 26, 2025, Mexico City authorities have announced that there are expected to be some gatherings at various points across the capital, which could affect urban mobility. Authorities have advised the public to anticipate travels, take alternative routes, and stay informed about road reports throughout the day.

Gatherings Across Mexico City Alcaldías

Cuauhtémoc Alcaldía:

  • At 11:00 AM, a march-gathering is planned on Calzada de los Misterios and Manuel González, in the ex Hipódromo de Peralvillo neighborhood, heading towards Fray Juan de Zumárraga 2 in the Gustavo A. Madero Alcaldía. The exact route has not been determined.
  • At 1:15 PM, another gathering is expected at Doctor Balmis 148 in the Doctores neighborhood.
  • At 8:30 PM, a gathering-ride is planned on Avenida México s/n (former Hipódromo), heading to Regina 18 in the Historic Center. The route remains undefined.

Gustavo A. Madero Alcaldía:

  • Starting at 10:00 AM, a gathering-ride will take place at Fray Juan de Zumárraga 2 in the Villa Gustavo A. Madero neighborhood, heading towards Aquiles Serdán and Golfo de Tehuantepec in the San Diego Ocoyoacac neighborhood, located in the Miguel Hidalgo Alcaldía. The SSC has warned that this activity could cause traffic disruptions on primary roads in the northern and eastern parts of the city.

Coyoacán Alcaldía:

  • At 8:00 PM, a gathering-ride is planned on Avenida El Parque s/n in the Avante neighborhood, heading to Avenida Industria Militar 1055 in the Lomas de Sotelo neighborhood, also located in Miguel Hidalgo. The route has not been specified.

Which Vehicles are Circulating?

These protests coincide with the implementation of Mexico City’s general program, Hoy No Circula, on Thursday, restricting the circulation of vehicles with blue placards ending in 9 and 0, holograms 1 and 2, from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

  • Vehicles with holograms 0 and 00, as well as electric or hybrid vehicles, are exempt from these environmental restrictions.

The SSC has recommended that citizens consider these restrictions and protests when planning their travels, utilize public transportation, and consult official sources to stay updated on protest progress and potential road closures throughout the day.
