The Permanent Commission of Congress ratified the appointments of new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors from Mexico to the Republics of Panama and Turkey.

With 25 votes in favor and 11 against, Claudia Artemiza Pavlovich Arellano was approved as Mexico’s ambassador to Panama. During her presentation before members of the First Commission of “Political Affairs and International Relations” of the Permanent, she outlined her six-pronged program focusing on political, economic-commercial, cultural, bilateral cooperation, consular protection, and multilateral affairs.

The appointment of Díaz de León was approved unanimously (36 votes) and includes concurrent representation for Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan.

Highlighting the strong bilateral relationship with Turkey based on shared principles of international peace and security, Díaz de León’s plan of action aims to bolster political, economic, and cooperation ties. Additionally, the ambassador plans to promote substantive equality through preventative measures to safeguard Mexican women in Turkey.
