Introduction to the New Trolebús Line 11

On Monday, May 12, 2025, the new Line 11 of the Trolebús will commence operations, connecting Chalco with Santa Marta. This historic project aims to revolutionize mobility in the eastern part of the Valley of Mexico.

Key Stations Starting Operations

Nine stations will be operational from the first day:

  • Santa Marta
  • Parque de la Mujer
  • Cuauhtémoc
  • Puente Rojo
  • Puente Blanco
  • Parque Tejones
  • José María Martínez
  • Amalinalco
  • Chalco Terminal

These stations will facilitate crucial connectivity between the Iztapalapa borough and the Mexican municipalities of Chalco, Valle de Chalco Solidaridad, and La Paz.

Stations Pending Due to Ongoing Construction

Three stations will not be available initially due to ongoing construction of a rainwater collector in the Chalco tract:

  • Unión de Guadalupe
  • La Covadonga
  • Ejidal

Additionally, three more stations are under construction in the elevated section over the Mexico-Puebla highway:

  • Teotongo
  • La Virgen
  • Xico

A Modern, Electric, and Sustainable Transport Solution

Line 11’s new Trolebús units are fully electric, with self-sufficient autonomy to complete the 18.5 km route.

This system will cater to an estimated daily demand of 120,000 passengers, reaching 230,000 daily users in its mature stage. It offers a safe, comfortable, organized, and zero-emission transportation solution that directly benefits over three million residents of eastern Mexico State and the CDMX.

This project aims to address a historical debt owed to a region that suffered neglect and irregular transportation for decades, promoting dignified and sustainable mobility for those who need it most.
