Monterrey, Nuevo León – The Early Childhood Center, in collaboration with Fundación FEMSA, hosted the Third International Forum on Early Childhood: “A Region That Cares: Science, Knowledge, and Alliances for Early Childhood in Latin America” on November 12-13 at the Tecnológico de Monterrey. The forum aimed to promote knowledge exchange and strengthen public policies focused on the holistic development of girls and boys in the region.

By invitation from the Early Childhood Center, Ivette Salazar Márquez, Executive Secretary of SIPINNA Tamaulipas, participated as a guest speaker. Her presence underscores the institutional commitment of Tamaulipas to implementing evidence-based strategies to ensure the well-being and rights of children.
“For the Government of Tamaulipas, led by Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, early childhood is a strategic priority. Participating in this international forum allows us to strengthen decision-making and advance towards public policies that truly transform the lives of our girls and boys. We will continue working collaboratively with academia, international organizations, and municipalities to build an environment that cares for, protects, and ensures their holistic development,” Salazar Márquez emphasized.
International Experts Share Insights
The forum featured experts from Chile, Peru, Brazil, England, Colombia, Turkey, Mexico, Argentina, and the United States, representing prestigious international institutions such as Stanford Center on Early Childhood, University of Maine, Yale Child Study Center, New York University, NIEER Rutgers University, Universidad de los Andes, and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Focus on Key Challenges
The discussions centered around three priority challenges for the region: inequality, climate change, and peace-building. These issues were addressed from an intersectoral perspective.
Tamaulipas Delegation Participates in the Forum
Thanks to collaboration agreements between SIPINNA Tamaulipas and the Early Childhood Center, a delegation of public servants from the Tamaulipas State Government attended the forum. The Sistema DIF Tamaulipas, SIPINNA Nuevo Laredo, and virtual participation from the Tamaulipas State Human Rights Commission and 20 SIPINNA municipalities also took part.
