Introduction to the Trolebús Chalco-Santa Marta
On Sunday, May 18th, the Línea 11 of the Trolebús, connecting Santa Marta with Chalco, officially commenced operations, as announced by the Servicio de Transportes Eléctricos (STE). This new public transportation line spans 18.5 kilometers, stretching from the Iztapalapa borough in Mexico City to Chalco, a municipality in the State of Mexico.
Route and Stations
During its initial phase, the Línea 11 offers service at the following stations: Santa Marta, Parque de la Mujer, Cuauhtémoc, Puente Rojo, Puente Blanco, Parque Tejones, José María Martínez, Amalinalco, and Chalco.
Tariff and Operating Hours
The service operates on two routes: Santa Marta-Chalco and Constitución de 1917-Chalco. Operating hours are from Monday to Saturday, 04:30 to 00:30 hours, and on Sundays and holidays from 05:00 to 00:00 hours.
The general fare is set at 13 pesos. However, the service remains free for adults over 60 years old, individuals with disabilities, and children under five years of age.
Intermodal Connection
The new line provides a strategic intermodal connection from the Santa Marta station, linking to the Line A of the Metro, the Line 2 of the Cablebús, RTP routes, and other systems operating in the Centro de Transferencia Modal (CETRAM).
