Cablebús Project Overview

The Cablebús project, a public transportation initiative in Mexico City, began in 2018 with the construction of three lines in the Gustavo A. Madero, Iztapalapa, and Bosque de Chapultepec alcaldías.

“We will continue with this efficient mobility system that will serve other populations primarily located in the periphery. We are about to start three new lines in the coming weeks,” stated Basulto Luviano, head of Sobse.

Importance of Urban Infrastructure

Mauricio Jessurun Solomou, president of the Mexico City Infrastructure and Commuting Committee (CICM), emphasizes the significance of urban infrastructure like the Cablebús lines in supporting the daily lives of millions of capital residents.

“Mexico City is one of the largest, most complex, and dynamic cities in the world, where more than 9 million inhabitants work and coexist daily. This figure rises to over 23 million when including the metropolitan area, with growing needs for water, energy, housing, and transportation,” explained Jessurun Solomou, the engineer.
