About the Program and Conavi
The National Housing Commission (CONAVI) is a Mexican government agency responsible for implementing housing policies and programs. Their latest initiative, the “Housing for Well-being” program, aims to construct 500,000 homes during the current administration for individuals earning up to two minimum wages.
Next Steps in the Application Process
According to CONAVI, after completing the first phase, the list of potential beneficiaries will be published on the official CONAVI website (www.gob.mx/conavi) and in strategic locations within the designated area.
CONAVI will also contact potential beneficiaries by phone to schedule a home visit, where additional information will be gathered and supplementary documentation required.
- Applicants must register in person on the designated day and time.
- Registration through a proxy, representative, or similar figure is not allowed.
- It’s crucial to attend the scheduled home visit.
- If contact cannot be established, the process cannot proceed.
Once this process is completed, CONAVI will determine the final list of beneficiaries.
In case of excess demand, CONAVI will conduct a lottery to define the beneficiary list and consider a second phase if necessary.
Subsidy and Financing
Upon approval of the housing subsidy, CONAVI will formalize it through legal instruments with the beneficiaries. The Financiera para el Bienestar (FINABIEN) will participate in collecting credits with a 0% interest rate for up to 20 years for the acquisition of housing.
The funds received will be allocated to the construction fund for additional homes, as per FINABIEN.
