Infonavit’s Housing Initiative in Nuevo León
Infonavit, the Mexican National Housing Fund for Workers, has commenced delivering newly constructed homes in Nuevo León. As part of the initial batch, Infonavit handed over 171 housing units located in the Real de Loreto fraction in Pesquería municipality.

Current Progress and Future Plans
Octavio Romero Oropeza, head of Infonavit, announced that 11,000 homes are currently under construction across seven municipalities in Nuevo León: Pesquería, Juárez, General Escobedo, García, Cadereyta, Ciénega de Flores, and Sabinas Hidalgo. Moreover, Infonavit anticipates starting construction on an additional 6,800 homes by the next quarter of the following year.
Six-Year Target Progress
Romero Oropeza highlighted that by the end of 2025, Infonavit aims to initiate construction on 315,000 homes. Furthermore, another 400,000 homes are projected for the upcoming year. “We already have viable projects for next year totaling 400,000 homes,” he stated. “In just two years, we will have constructed more than half of the six-year target (1.2 million homes).”
Additional Benefits and Support
During his visit to Nuevo León, Romero Oropeza also distributed mortgage cancellations and assisted two beneficiaries with complete credit cancellation through the Infonavit Solución Integral program. These individuals received a combined discount exceeding 2.8 million pesos.
