About Supernovas and InDrive
Supernovas is a soccer-based initiative launched in 2022 by InDrive, a Russian-origin company. The program aims to positively impact the lives of over a billion people by 2030 through seven projects focusing on education, arts, and sports. One of these projects is Supernovas, which offers free training to children with a unique approach that prioritizes creating a safe space and fostering teamwork rather than competition.
InDrive’s Global Reach
Currently, InDrive has over 3,500 children from eight countries across three continents participating in their programs. Mexico, Colombia, and Chile are the latest additions to this list, joining Kazakhstan, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, and Morocco.
Supernovas Sedes in Mexico
The third Mexican sede of Supernovas will be established in León, Guanajuato. The program is already running in Tlalnepantla and Cuautitlán Izcalli, with coach Estefanía Belmonte overseeing 57 children, and in Ixtlán de Juárez, Oaxaca, where coach Daniel Pérez manages 86 young athletes.
Program Details and Accessibility
Supernovas utilizes existing public facilities, such as parks and sports complexes, for their training sessions. InDrive supplies materials for the children and coaching training for the coaches. The program is open to children aged 5-12, living near the designated training grounds, without any financial burden on participants.
Impact and Values
The coaches emphasize the holistic development of children through soccer, focusing on teamwork and skill-building. Christian ‘Chaco’ Giménez, a former professional soccer player and current Fox Sports analyst, serves as the program’s ambassador. His son, Santiago, is a key player for both the Mexican National Team and AC Milan.
Partnerships and Expansion
Supernovas is an official member of the UN’s ‘Football for Goals’ initiative and I Coach Kids, a European Union program. These partnerships ensure coaches receive continuous knowledge updates and methodologies for working with children. Currently, Latin America hosts over 1,000 children in the Supernovas program, with significant growth potential in Mexico.
