Delegation Led by Governor Pablo Lemus Promotes Jalisco in Taiwan and Japan
Guadalajara, Jalisco. To solidify Jalisco’s position as the “Silicon Valley of Latin America” and a key player in strategic sectors such as semiconductor design, automotive, and technology manufacturing, a delegation comprising business leaders and state officials embarked on a working visit to Taiwan and Japan.
Governor Pablo Lemus Highlights Investment Opportunities
After meeting with executives from electronics companies in Taiwan, Governor Pablo Lemus stated, “We are securing significant agreements to further establish Jalisco as an investment oasis in semiconductors, as well as the automotive industry.”
Lemus Navarro emphasized, “We will bring excellent news for our state and the future of its people, with more well-paying jobs. Jalisco will continue to be recognized not only as Latin America’s Silicon Valley but also as the land of technology, human, social, and technological development.”
Workforce Quality and Electromobility
Lemus highlighted the quality of Jalisco’s workforce, with over 20,000 engineering graduates annually from local universities, as a major attraction for Asian investments.
During the initial days in Asia, the delegation discussed electromobility, a state government initiative to promote sustainable mobility in Jalisco.
Cindy Blanco Ochoa, Secretary of Economic Development (Sedeco), noted the interest of Taiwanese companies in specialized agendas, including semiconductor design and long-term research.
“We explored various companies focusing on electromobility, semiconductors, and maintaining Jalisco’s focus on design while growing in the supply chain,” Blanco explained.
The delegation aims to understand the needs of interested companies planning to bring projects to Jalisco, taking advantage of its competitive advantages such as strategic connectivity, specialized talent, infrastructure, labor peace, legal certainty, public safety, and a long-term vision.
