In the first quarter of 2025, large contributors representing only 0.01% of the taxpayer population provided 58% of Mexico’s total tax revenue, marking a 32.7% annual increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to an analysis by the Confederation of Mexican Businessmen’s Groups (COPARMEX) using data from the Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP).

Despite the economic slowdown from January to March 2025, large private sector contributors generated tax income for the SAT amounting to 880,348.5 million pesos, compared to 663,288 million pesos in the same period of 2024. This represents a 32.7% increase.
This growth contrasts with the 0.32% increase in large contributor contributions from 2024 compared to the previous year, according to SHCP data.

He stressed the importance of protecting and incentivizing their presence and growth, saying, “Instead of stigmatizing the productive sector, we must recognize its role as a pillar of national economic sustainability.”
Therefore, COPARMEX Nuevo León calls for establishing an environment that promotes investment, formality, and legal certainty—essential conditions to continue funding social programs, infrastructure, and public services that benefit the entire society.
