Mazatlán, Sinaloa – In the context of a new branding strategy, the 28th edition of Friends Amigos Mazatlán was inaugurated, an event that brings together key players from North America’s tourism sector and solidifies Mazatlán as a world-class destination, focusing on the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) sector.

According to Ali Zamudio, Secretary of Economic Development and Fisheries in Mazatlán, the city has seen approximately 9,500 million pesos in investments during this administration, with 6,000 million coming from the tourism and real estate sectors. From January to September of this year, Mazatlán has welcomed 3.4 million tourists with a hotel occupancy rate of 72%. Additionally, the city has hosted 79 cruise ships with over 249,552 passengers, generating more than 463 million pesos in economic impact.

The Friends Amigos festival serves as a platform to foster collaboration between the public and private sectors, with representatives from airlines, travel agencies, tour operators, and specialized media from Mexico, the United States, and Canada participating. Over three days, more than 1,200 meetings will take place to finalize Mazatlán’s 2026 agenda.
