Querétaro’s Investment Attractiveness in the First Quarter

During the first three months of 2025, the state of Querétaro has accumulated investment announcements worth 697 million US dollars, representing 2.7% of the total nationwide (25,856 million dollars), according to information from the Secretaría de Economía (SE).

These announcements represent the expectation of foreign direct investment that Querétaro will receive.

Impact on Employment

These investments are projected to generate approximately 2,309 jobs, which is 3.5% of the 65,200 employment opportunities expected across the country.

Ranking Among Mexican States

Among the 32 entities, Querétaro ranks sixth in terms of the highest accumulated amount in the first quarter. Above Querétaro are Baja California, Sonora, Zacatecas, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas.

The largest amount corresponds to investments in the commerce sector, concentrating 11,003 million dollars (43%) of the expected investment for the country.

Manufacturing is the second sector with the most investments, totaling 6,227 million dollars (24%) through projects for the beverage industry, dairy products, metal products, auto parts, and medical supplies.

Construction follows with 3,550 million dollars (14%) of investments.

Other sectors with announced investments in Mexico include services, mining, mass media, and transportation.

The remaining entities account for 37% of the total investment, with 9,561 million dollars in projects generating 14,609 jobs (22% of the total).
