Querétaro Hotel Association Predicts 58% Occupancy in December
Querétaro, Qro. The Queretaran Hotel Association (AQH) estimates that its member hotels will reach a 58% occupancy rate during December. According to AQH president Mónica Aguilar Torrentera, this month signifies an increase in demand for food preparation services for meetings and a period that also generates accommodation occupancy.
Balancing Business and Leisure Travel
Although December sees a decrease in business travel-related services, it maintains equilibrium with leisure tourism. Aguilar Torrentera stated, “I believe we will close at around 58% occupancy for our association’s hotels, as there is a drop in business-related services, but it is balanced by hotels with higher occupancy due to leisure tourism.”
Peak Demand for Food and Beverage Services
The highest demand for food and beverage services occurs on December 24th and 25th, particularly in popular tourist destinations such as Querétaro’s Historic Center and the Pueblos Mágicos.
“In terms of occupancy, the first three weeks of December are strong, with peaks on December 24th and 25th, generating occupancy in the most popular tourist destinations, including Querétaro’s downtown area and Pueblos Mágicos,” Aguilar Torrentera explained.
Year-end celebrations and corporate gatherings further boost the demand for food and beverage services.
Special Holiday Offerings by Hotels
Some establishments provide banquet services for December 24th and 31st celebrations, offering unique dining experiences with themed dinners, live music, and dancing.
“This is great for Querétaro’s hotels, as we host Christmas and New Year’s Eve dinners for those who prefer not to stay home. Our hotels prepare these meals specially, offering themed experiences with our signature gastronomy and entertainment,” Aguilar Torrentera said.

Due to family gatherings, Querétara expects visitors seeking accommodation, food, and beverage services during the holiday season.
