Overview of Cargo Operations at Querétaro International Airport

The Querétaro International Airport (AIQ) transported 24,832.7 tonnes of cargo between January and April 2025, experiencing a modest growth of 1.7%, according to records from the Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes (SICT).

Fluctuating Trends in Cargo Volume

The subdued variation is a result of the decline in cargo volume during February and April. In January, air cargo saw an annual increase of 8.2%, but February experienced a decrease of -20.5%. March saw growth of 27%, followed by a -4.4% drop in April.

Despite the fluctuations, the growth registered in the first four months of 2025 was more positive compared to the same period last year, when cargo volume had decreased by 5.4%.

Domestic and International Cargo Performance

Domestic shipments propelled the airport’s activity in the first four months of 2025, with a 5.5% increase compared to 2024, while international cargo saw a 6.6% decline.
