Beatriz Hernández Rojas, Coparmex President, Stresses the Need for Digital Inclusion

In light of rapid technological advancements and the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI), Beatriz Hernández Rojas, President of the Confederation of Mexican Employers’ Organizations (COPARMEX), emphasized the necessity of bridging the digital divide faced by businesses to prevent loss of competitiveness. This statement was made during the presentation of the Feria Internacional de Innovación y Emprendimiento (FIIE) 2025, organized by COPARMEX and for the first time held in Querétaro.

Addressing the Digital Divide

Hernández Rojas highlighted that economic units must align with emerging technological trends, including AI, to mitigate the risk of business mortality. She expressed concern that the digital divide is widening due to rapid technological advancements, potentially causing micro and small enterprises (MSEs) to be left behind, thereby losing competitiveness.

FIIE Event Details

The FIIE will take place on September 17th and 18th at the Centro de Innovación y Tecnología Creativa (Bloque) in Querétaro. This marks the first time the event is held outside of Mexico City, where the initial three editions were organized.

  • The event will feature keynote speeches on technology, market trends, and sustainability.
  • Experts in AI, Industry 4.0, clean energy, biotechnology, fintech, mobility, and international trade are expected to attend.
  • The event will serve as a meeting point for entrepreneurs, established businesses, educational institutions, research centers, and government bodies to foster collaboration and business connections.
  • This edition will involve 63 national and international speakers, 30 exhibitors, and 30 startup representatives.
  • An estimated 1,000 to 1,500 attendees are expected daily.

EmprendeLab Support for Entrepreneurs and MSEs

As part of the entrepreneurship program organized by Querétaro’s capital, 275 projects were recently incubated, with 75% being technology-based. The goal is to stimulate the growth of these projects, which have already created 200 jobs in just six months. The third edition of the entrepreneurship program has commenced with 700 new projects.
