Overview of Querétaro’s Export Performance

According to the Exportations Trimestrally by Federal Entity (ETEF) report from Mexico’s National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), Querétaro’s exports reached a value of 4,532.5 million US dollars from July to September this year, marking a 7.1% annual growth.

Recovery After Four Quarters of Decline

After four consecutive quarters of annual declines, Querétaro’s exports finally recovered. The state experienced negative annual variations from 6.8% in the third quarter of 2024 to 2.8% in the second quarter of 2025. However, the third quarter of 2025 saw a 7.1% annual growth, breaking the negative streak.

While manufacturing exports reached 4,488 million US dollars in the third quarter of 2025, representing a 7.3% growth compared to the same period last year, agricultural exports only amounted to 34.1 million US dollars with an 18.8% annual decline.

The primary sector contributed 0.8% to the total export value in the July-September period, whereas manufacturing industries accounted for 99%. Querétaro ranked fifth among states where manufacturing exports have the highest weight concerning total exports, just below Nuevo León, Estado de México, Ciudad de México, and San Luis Potosí.

Subsector Performance

Within Querétaro, the manufacturing of computing, communication, measurement, and other electronic equipment, components, and accessories achieved the highest annual growth of 25.5%. The fabrication of metal products followed with 21.1%, and transportation equipment manufacturing grew by 9.3%.

On the other hand, exports related to printing and related industries suffered the most significant decline of -29.2%, followed by beverage and tobacco industries (-27.6%) and agriculture (-18.8%).

Annual Export Value Surpasses 13,000 Million US Dollars

In the first nine months of the year, Querétaro’s exports exceeded 13,000 million US dollars, representing a 2.3% annual decline.
