Overview of the Event and Its Significance

Querétaro, Qro. The secondary and tertiary sectors are expected to generate a $350 million economic impact through the Expo Encuentro Industrial y Commercial Querétaro 2025. This event, held from September 3 to 5, aims to foster local supply chain by connecting businesses’ offerings and demands.

Event Details

The Querétaro Convention Center (QCC) hosts the event, covering 6,400 square meters with exhibition space for over 300 industrial companies. The event is divided into three pavilions: industrial, commercial, and technological.

A B2B business meeting will take place during these days, involving 60 purchasing companies. Over 7,000 attendees are expected throughout the event.

On the third day, a job fair will be held where 38 companies will offer 1,000 job vacancies, according to Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, Secretary of Sustainable Development (Sedesu).

Impact on Local Businesses

Through the expo, Sedesu aims to bridge the gap between businesses’ needs and suppliers, positively affecting micro, small, medium, and large enterprises.

“We are linking supply with demand here… Companies will find potential clients interested in their products, and they’ll meet decision-makers or purchasing managers, which was difficult to find before. We anticipate over $35 million in economic impact during these three days,” Del Prete Tercero stated.

Collaborative Efforts

Sedesu coordinates the event, with participation from various public and private sector organizations, including the National Industry Transformation Chamber (Canacintra), Querétaro Commerce Chamber, Automotive Cluster of Querétaro, and the Labor and Youth Secretariats.

Governor Mauricio Kuri González highlighted Querétaro’s position as the fifth-largest recipient of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) during the first half of the year, with $970.3 million in FDI, a 10.5% annual increase. This amount accounts for 2.8% of Mexico’s total FDI, placing Querétaro fifth, behind the Greater Mexico City, Nuevo León, State of Mexico, and Baja California, as reported by the Secretariat of Economy (SE).

Kellanova’s Commitment to Querétaro

Víctor Marroquín Cade, President of Kellanova Latin America, emphasized Querétaro’s strategic importance for the company and their continued investment in the state’s growth.

Marroquín Cade spoke about Querétaro’s skilled workforce and logistical advantages for supply chains and exports to the United States and Latin America. He praised Querétaro’s strategic location, noting that Kellanova established its first plant outside the US and its Mexico and Latin America headquarters in the state.
