Cancún, QRoo. – Quintana Roo is one of the 26 federal entities that have reduced their average daily homicides from 2024 to 2025, reporting a decrease of 56.8%, according to Marcela Figueroa Franco, head of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (Sesnsp).

Quintana Roo concluded 2025 as the third state with the most significant reduction in intentional homicides nationally, according to a Sesnsp report.

During the morning press conference of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, it was reported that 26 federal entities decreased the number of intentional homicides in their regions. Zacatecas led with a reduction of 71.1%, followed by Chiapas with 58%, and Quintana Roo with 56.8%.
