No Tax Changes Anticipated in Upcoming Fiscal Year

The Government of Tamaulipas does not plan to propose any changes to existing taxes during the upcoming fiscal year, according to Carlos Irán Ramírez González, the state’s Secretary of Finance. He clarified that any modifications would depend on the legislative analysis conducted by the local Congress within the 2026 Fiscal Package.

Emphasis on Improving Revenue Collection

Ramírez González explained that the state’s financial strategy focuses on enhancing revenue collection and maintaining stable, transparent public finances. He highlighted that cities with the highest collection rates are Reynosa, Matamoros, Ciudad Victoria, Tampico, and Nuevo Laredo, indicating widespread participation from taxpayers.

Successful Vehicle Regularization Decrees

The secretary pointed out that favorable revenue collection results are largely due to vehicle regularization decrees, with positive performance in the sale of vehicle plates and rights. The applied tariffs are 3,990 pesos for 2010 model vehicles and 5,990 pesos for units from 2011 to 2016.

  • As of the current date, 721,898 plates have been issued across the state, generating over 1,776 million pesos in revenue.
