Sustainable Mobility: From Theory to Action

Ayvens México recently held the first edition of its event, “Move to Electric,” at Off Road México. This gathering focused on promoting sustainable mobility through experiences, conferences, and strategic partnerships. The event brought together experts in electrification, automotive sector representatives, and companies interested in transforming their fleets.

Attendees participated in specialized conferences, business networking sessions, and test drives of electric and hybrid vehicles from leading brands such as BYD, Nissan, General Motors, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Hyundai, Kia, GWM, JAECOO, and Chirey.

Ayvens México: A Global Player in Sustainable Mobility

Ayvens México manages over 3.2 million vehicles globally, with 600,000 already being electric. In Mexico, the firm offers leasing with comprehensive services, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, CO2 emissions diagnostics, electric charging ecosystem installation, and financial advice.

Fleet Electrification in Mexico: Challenges and Opportunities

Pedro Dias, country manager of Ayvens México, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability and transportation sector transformation during the event’s opening. He highlighted that, although progress is evident, challenges remain such as initial investment, limited public charging infrastructure, and insufficient public policies.

Dias pointed out that sustainable mobility depends not only on technological change but also on a holistic vision. “An efficient fleet does not necessarily have to be fully electric; it also involves optimizing routes, incorporating low-emission or hybrid vehicles, and considering how employees move within the organization,” he said.

In 2024, Mexico registered the sale of 124,000 electric and hybrid plug-in vehicles, a 67% increase from the previous year. However, the number of public charging points remains low, though it is expected to surpass 10,000 by the end of 2025.

Leading Brands like BYD and Nissan Bet on Innovation

A highlight of the event was BYD México’s participation, whose portfolio of 100% electric vehicles caught the audience’s attention. Oscar Hernández, product training manager, presented BYD’s exclusive technology, such as its Blade battery and zero-ground-up designed electric platforms with ultra-fast charging systems.

“BYD does not manufacture combustion vehicles. We only develop electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles. In 2024, we sold over 4 million electrified units globally,” Hernández affirmed.

Nissan México also showcased its innovation with the e-Power technology, available in Kicks Play and X-Trail models, targeting corporate fleets. This system allows for 100% electric driving without a plug, thanks to an onboard gasoline generator offering up to 1,000 km of autonomy.

Test Drives and Real-Life Experiences

The event included an electric vehicle driving experience on a specialized circuit to evaluate their performance. Attendees could verify the response, range, comfort, and real benefits of this technology, ranging from SUVs to sedans.

Jesús Mata, commercial director of Ayvens México, stressed: “We want to support our clients throughout the process. Here are the brands, advice, and financing they need to advance towards a cleaner fleet.”

A Bet on the Future

“Move to Electric” clearly demonstrated that the transition to electric mobility in Mexico has already begun. Ayvens aims to position itself as a strategic ally for companies wanting to reduce their environmental footprint, optimize operational costs, and lead the change towards a more responsible corporate transportation.
